The Cancer Society of New Zealand

20th Dec 2019

One in three people are at risk of developing cancer in New Zealand. The Cancer Society of New Zealand is a nationwide 'organisation dedicated to reducing the incidence of cancer and ensuring the best cancer care for everyone in New Zealand'.

Cancer Society does not receive any government funding, so kind support from the Taranaki business community helps them to continue to provide free services for all families touches by any type of cancer in the Taranaki region.

The donation of $500 from Waterworks goes towards the many services Cancer Society offers such as;

  • Counselling sessions (adult & children)
  • Oncology massage/Reiki treatments
  • Support groups and home visits
  • Exercise programmes
  • Sunscreen supplied to community events
  • Health promotion and education
  • Transport to cancer related appointments
  • Cancer information booklets and library books
  • Cancer research

The team at Waterworks are honoured to be able to support such a worthy cause as part of our mission of giving back to the community in our 'Community Support 2019' initiative.

To make an appointment to speak to the Supportive Care Coordinator or for more information, please phone the Cancer Society on 06 757 3006.
