No Duff

20th Dec 2019

Often it is the family or friends of someone struggling that will call for help. No Duff Charitable Trust is a registered charity committed to providing support for the Veteran Community in New Zealand. This Community consists of current and former members of NZDF and includes their families. They are New Zealand's only Veteran specific crisis responders, No Duff also pro-actively helps Veterans before crisis point with anything from just practical help at home, peer to peer support and helping someone navigate the official channels of support.

No Duff receives a very small percentage of Government funding. Primarily, the funding of No Duff comes from the community, meaning they are very dependent on volunteer workers, those who are proud to assist our NZDF current and ex-service people.

Watch the video below where Dr Nealis discusses several key issues regarding veterans' health:

  • The differences between generations regarding mental injuries.
  • Veterans attitudes towards seeking support as opposed to self-support /medicating.
  • The difference between the civilian and military contexts of violence, and the flow on effects for veterans and their families.
